living room, check, dining room, check.

alright, here we go. son of a buck rooms took forever. here they are primed. things later start getting a little hairy. late late late nights were getting annoying.
here, i am demonstrating the proper mixing technique for latex paint. for some reason i like to see how high out of the can i can make the paint go when im mixing. some times it gets messy.
walls are painted, but we will that later. next up is refinishing the floors. wife went to lowes for me and loaded up, i kid you not, a 130 pound floor sander all by her self while pushing the G-Unit. not so good lowes associate.
first up, bedroom, original subfloor. you kinda see where the wall used to be and the one had floor paint which didnt totally come up.
heres the super secret hatch to our escape pod. just kidding. it goes to the stupid basement. its super small and super....short.
back to the living room. no overhead light yet, so a portable one will do. but anyways, since its 2am when i took all the pictures, the paint is obviously a bit darker at night. its almost purpleish in the evening, but a lighter gray in the morning.
 sanding the oak floors down.
all the cables are zip tied and good to go.

sanding and sanding and sanding. since it was so stinkin late and i wasnt thinking clearly, i didnt realize i didnt take pictures of the beast of a sander or the paper i got. anyways, i used 20 grit which is like rubble on paper, then 60 and 80.
since literally everything in the living, dining, and bedroom had to be moved, it all ended up in the kitchen. the biggest mistake was that i didnt make a little hoarders trail to the fridge. son of a buck.

 man, this looks horrible.
bedroom floors are being painted with some fancy floor paint. here i show you what a floor looks like with primer on it. very fancy.
id like to apologize again for not thinking right and forgetting to take pictures of my order of operations. since this was my first time for refinishing a floor, i just kinda went for it. i got an applicator for the polyurathane and just went to town.
wife and i were debating on staining the floor, but the minwax  polyurathane did a pretty good job. we didnt want it too shiny, so satin was the winner.
we polyurathaned the living and dining. once again, late nights got the best of me, and i didnt take any pictures. after the first coat was finished, wife and i hand sanded with 220 grit, then wiped it down with a tack cloth and applied the last coat.
heres the finished product of the pine floors in the dining room. temporary piece of carpet for Grissom to play on until we get a Gable Designs table or i make one myself.

fancy couches arrived! not one, but two martha stewart couches arrived  by two latino guys.
thanks to my dad and brother-in-law, we got the fan up. and yes, it is very very close to the bottom of the floor joists. crazy close.
wife wanted the tree in the middle of the two windows, so that puts a massive dampner on the arrangement of the rest of the furniture. so things are just placed randomly. but they look fancy, so its all good.

sorry wife, this is a horrible angle.
 finished room. fiiiiiinally.
i have a couple trim pieces left, but its done. all stinkin done. and i dont have any pictures of the bedroom up cause its messy in here. but the floors are white, or some color thats close to white. i dont know the name.
