kitchen shelving unit

heres a shelving unit that the-brick-house got the idea from. my design will be a little different though. they have real short shelves, while ill have 24 inch deep one.
the idea taken from the-brick-house. it wont have a 90 degree elbow going up to mount to the bottom of the shelf. it'll have a 3-way off of the horizontal pipe and have a base flange to mount onto a cleat on the wall. so then the shelf will rest on the 3-way.
ill be getting 10 foot sections of this. 1/2" black pipe from the home depot. after i make cuts, ill have to re-thread the end so it'll fit into the 3-way.
heres the base flange that will be mounted to the floor, cleat on the wall, and the bottom of the countertop.

ill have to get a ton of these. it'll look like tube city.

lights, camera, no action yet.

cool chandelier from the-brick-house. but its probably uber expensive.  wife might not like the price, or even the look.
also from the-brick-house. not a fan of the wires just hanging there, but i could make something pretty similar.
this is what i hope to have OKed by the wife for the front and back door. gotta ward of the cyotes!
wife would probably like this better. i do love seeded glass.
i already posted this before but i want to make this one too. i will probably be stopping by the lighting supply place in the short future.
i love all the fan blades. could give someone a gnarly haircut.
i might try to get this into the kitchen. who knows.
the light would match outdoor vapor tight lights. everything still has to be passed by the wife.

progress is slowly showing

the living room with the french doors torn out and the drop ceiling removed.

its all temporary to please the bank so we can finish with the loan. all the plaster will be taken down to do it right.
the wall that separated the dining and the kitchen, and the drop ceiling torn out. started chipping away at the plaster on the chimney to expose the brick.

removing the dang plaster takes forever. son of a buck.
custom kitchen by gable. just kidding. its just to please the bank again. it'll all be ripped out the day we sign the final papers. along with that window that is lower than counter height.

the wall between the two bedrooms was taken out to make one big room for the master.  will end up doing a soffit box with recessed lights eventually.
this is where the closet was that our friend jeremy framed out. i think wife gave the go ahead on that one. FAIL. being the great architect I am, pointed out that there would be no place to put the bed. going to make "floating" shelves for either side of the bed in place of night stands.

this is a little closet under the stairs. somehow it burnt all of the inside and the fire went in the wall, above where the french doors were. crazy meth heads. i blocked the door so no one i didnt want get in, like the crazy appraiser lady.
some people just shouldn't try to remodel. having 3 different roof pitches meeting all awas a horrible idea.
i hate this more than anything. trying to "plug" this hole to please the bank is a serious headache. this is halfway through putting up trim to hide much as i can. i cant wait for Demo-Day.

not sure what some people are thinking when they try to install their own shower/tub. idiots. this tub is going to get trashed, and ill frame walls for a walk in shower. fancy.
the washer and dryer will be going to the other side of the wall in the mudroom. ill be getting a claw foot tub to go where the washer and dryer are now. we'll lose the massive water heater and get a sweet on-demand one. i also picked up a almost brand new toilet from a guy i    was installing a shower door for, for FREE. he was just going to throw it away. plus its white, not light pink.

we'll replace this stupid sink with this sweet ikea sink. gotta love sweden. ill have chris the cabinet guy make me a base cabinet that it a little taller than standard height. probably in the ball park of 38".  i just hate low sinks. and then ones with faucets so close to the back of the bowl you cant get your hands under the water the whole way.

kitchen ideas

Domsjo sink from ikea

This is the faucet that wife and I liked at lowes. looking at it now with the ikea sink, im not sure. it might work. but the sink only has one hole for the plumbing but none for the soap dispenser. dag gone.

i love this one from ikea. anything that comes from Sweden is awesome....saabs, womens soccer and ikea
.
this what we are saving for. its from green oak antiques. found it with chris the cabinet guy and his woman. the top, fancy trim and tin are all old, but everything else is new.
